William Chris Barker

William Chris Barker, of Pelham, NC, passed away November 4, 2025, peacefully at his residence with his family.

Chris was born in Danville, VA. on January 29, 1953. He was the son of the late William David Barker and Pauline Myers Barker. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his granddaughter Lyndsey Daniel, brother David “Butch” Barker and ex-son-in-law Ricky Daniel.

Chris attended Timberlake Baptist Church. He was employed by Dan River Mills, then went to DCC to get his electrical degree. After that he worked for Elliott Electric of Danville, where he retired.

Chris is survived by his loving wife of the home, Sheila Pruitt Barker, one daughter, Cristy Barker King (KK), grandchildren Kaitlyn Daniel (Toni), Madison King, Kevin King Jr. (Tayler) and Mariah King, along with great grandchildren Lilly Rae Daniel, Nick Ellison, and Sawyer King. Also surviving are his special nephew John Barker (Leslie), special niece Tracey Barker Walker, special great nephews and nieces Caleb Walker, Faith Walker, Ridge Barker, Collin Miller, Jessica Dawn Barker. Chris was also survived by Donald Bennett Barker, Patsy Owen, and Donna Ann Little.

Graveside services will be at Schoolfield Cemetery, Friday, November 7, at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends and family at the residence. Family and friends can also pay respects at Townes Funeral Home located at 215 W. Main St. Danville, VA.
