Wayne Turner Womble

Wayne Turner Womble, 76, passed away on August 29, 2026. Born on November 26, 1949, in Danville, Virginia, he was the son of the late Pearle T. Womble and Glenn F. Womble.

Wayne was married to Michalene K. Womble.

He attended Elon College in 1969 and was a 1973 graduate of Averett University. Wayne worked as an engineering associate at Hickson Dan Chem. Wayne was an avid tennis player and charter member of the Stratford Tennis Club and also a member of the Humane Society. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Danville. Wayne played in various bands during the 1960s and 1970s including The Soul Masters band, which he co-founded in 1965.

Wayne is survived by his wife Michalene Karpiel Womble of Danville, brother Glenn F. Womble Jr., niece Susan Linder (Matt) and great nieces.

The funeral service will be private.
