Virginia Lucille Johnson, of Danville, Virginia, passed away on October 06, 2025.
Lucille was born in Danville on November 26, 1935, a daughter of the late Thomas and Pearl Hutcherson. She graduated from George Washington High School in 1954. She was employed through the years as an administrative assistant at the Naval Base in Norfolk, and in Danville at the Social Security Administration, Camelot Nursing Home, and Clement and Wheatley law firm. She spent most of her life as a homemaker, and was a loving and devoted wife and Mother. She was a member of Fairview Church for 60 years. She had a passion for traveling the US and abroad, sewing, and playing the organ. Lucille was married to Thomas Parker Johnson for 71 years.
Lucille is survived her husband, Parker Johnson; her sons, Gary (Pam) and Kevin (Marcia); her grandsons, Bryce, Ryan (Amanda), and Adam; her great grandson, Cameron; and her great granddaughter, Olivia.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by a brother - Thomas Hutcherson, sister - Gertrude Thomas, half-brothers - George, Hylton, and Willie, and stepsister Wilmouth.
The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 8, at Fairview Church at 11:00 AM, with Reverend Linwood Cook and Reverend Ryan Beavers officiating. The family will receive friends at Fairview an hour prior to the service, and at other times at Townes Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service at the mausoleum in Danville Memorial Gardens.
