Stephen Anthony Wyatt, 48, of Danville, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 12, 2018. A native and lifelong resident of Danville, he was born on September 1, 1970 to Hugh Carlyle Wyatt and the late Patricia Anne Porter Wyatt. Stephen graduated with honors in 1989 from George Washington High School and is an alumnus of Radford University where he graduated with honors earning a Bachelor’s Degree in History. He loved the study of history and would often travel the world in search of it. Some of his travels included England, Scotland, Ireland, Rome and other western European countries. No matter where he went, he never met a stranger. His soft-spoken personality and sense of humor would warm the coldest of hearts. He was also a loyal member of the Mount Vernon United Methodist Church and their choir. In addition to his father, Stephen is survived by six siblings, John Michael Wyatt & his son Cody; Hilary Wyatt; Heather Wyatt Carter with her husband Ernest, children Wyatt Lee, Andrew and Catherine; Hugh Scott Wyatt with his wife Jennifer, children Ashley, Hugh, Hailey, John, Gabriel & Suvata; Matthew Patrick Wyatt with his wife Tiffany, children Megan & Coby along with youngest sibling Jeffrey Fitzgerald Wyatt. His Aunt Sandra Porter Milford; Uncle Dennis Porter with his wife Linda; many cousins and his beloved pet Morris. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Stephen Eli Porter and Vitula Vass Porter; paternal grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Alton C Wyatt. A visitation will be held, Sunday, December 16, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Townes Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Vernon United Methodist Church, with the Reverend Bart Fletcher officiating.
