Sara Harman Garrett

Sara Harman Garrett passed away on Monday, October 12th, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on Saturday, March 27th, 1943, in Williamson, West Virginia, Sara was a daughter of the late William Taft Harman and Juanita Harman.

Sara was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 59 years, Albert Earle Garrett III. She is survived by her children, Albert Earle Garrett IV and Scott Freeman Garrett, her grandchildren, Katie Carter (Jason), Lance Gagnon, and Matthew Gage Rials, her sisters, Eleanor Rhodes, Tam Starling, Jeannette Rhodes, her brother Don Harman (Georganne), and her special niece, Tamara Harvey (Edwin).

A dedicated nurse, Sara earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from Averett College and spent her career caring for others at Danville Memorial Hospital. She had a passion for gardening, puzzles, and was an avid reader. She found joy in watching crime shows in her leisure time.

A graveside service to honor Sara's life will be held at Highland Burial Park in Danville, VA, on Monday, October 19th, 2026, at 10:00 am.
