Ronald King

Mr. Ronald “Ronnie” R. King, of Danville, Va., died at his residence, on Wednesday, December 14, 2016. He was born in Danville on August 13, 1936, to the late Dwight S. King and Ethel Prather King, their only child.    He served his country in the United States Navy for 38 months, aboard the USS Plymouth Rock, LSD-29.     Ronnie was retired from Miller Brewing Company of Eden, NC and enjoyed music and gardening.    He was married to Florence Payne King, on April 14, 1962, who survives of the residence.    He was predeceased by his faithful four-legged companion “Tippy”.    A graveside service will be held at Highland Burial Park at 2:00 PM, Friday, December 16, 2016, with the Reverend Daryl Joyce officiating. The family will receive friends at the graveside.
