Robert Anthony “Tony” Adcock, 63, of Danville, Virginia, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Born in Danville on September 6, 1962, he was the son of Anne Taylor Adcock and Robert Henry Adcock, both of whom survive him and reside in Danville, Virginia.
Tony is survived by his loving wife, Roxanne Doggett Adcock, also of Danville; his daughters, Sarah Taylor Adcock of Alexandria, Virginia, and Kathryn Kendall “Kate” Adcock of Westpoint, Georgia; his sisters, Anne Mason (John) of Danville, Virginia, and Mary Pearce (Chris) and his nephew, Andrew Pearce of Raleigh, North Carolina.
Through his marriage to Roxanne, Tony also embraced his stepchildren, Joshua Scott Clark and Katherine Clark Bishop, along with Katherine’s husband, Jeff, and their son, Jack Alan Bishop, all of Danville, Virginia. Jack proudly called him “Papa Tony” and brought him tremendous joy.
Tony attended James Madison University and went on to build a long and successful career in the car business. He spent many of those years with Blackwell Automotive, where he formed lifelong friendships and found true pride in the work he did and the people he worked alongside.
Tony was a deeply dedicated “girl dad.” He loved being a dance dad and helping with school projects. He shared his love of Virginia’s rich history by taking his daughters on countless trips, teaching them through landmarks, stories, and long drives. He was fun, adventurous, and always planning the next outing, whether it was traveling, exploring new places, or simply finding something beautiful close to home.
Later in life, Tony met his love, Roxanne Doggett Adcock, and together they created a life marked by deep love, shared adventures, and genuine happiness.
Tony was an outdoorsman at heart. He loved bird watching, photography, hiking, and spending time along the river. The River Walk was especially meaningful to him and remained one of his favorite places throughout his life.
He also had a passion for cooking and grilling, always taking command of the kitchen. His dogs held a special place in his heart, especially his beloved German shepherd, Emma Jean, who predeceased him, and later Harper Lee the poodle.
Tony lived a full life centered around family, nature, and the simple joys he valued most. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held Saturday December 6, 2025, 3:00pm at West Main Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00pm prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Danville Humane Society.
