Phyllis Edwards Goddard, 75, of Greensboro, NC, passed away May 22, 2020, with family by her side. She was born on December 30, 1944 in Roanoke Rapids, NC to the late William Norman Edwards and Beatrice Irene Eure. She is survived by three children; Richard Goddard (Jennifer) of Greenville, NC, Robert Goddard (Angie) of Tupelo, MS, and Thomas Goddard (Angela) is Danville, VA as well as one sister Connie Bridgers (Johnny) and three brothers; James Little Jr., Mickey Little (Melanie), and Timmy Little. She was dearly loved by her five grandchildren, one great grandchild, four nieces, five nephews and a host of great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Phyllis is predeceased by her step father James Little Sr. and her brother William “Butch” Edwards and a niece Marsha Little Burns. Phyllis spent the majority of her life as a homemaker and was a mother figure to more than just her own children. There was not a day that she wasn’t thinking of what she could do for the ones she loved and going above and beyond in caring for others. All that knew her have been blessed. Even in her darkest hours “I’m fine” was her answer to all who checked on her because she was more concerned with how others felt than herself. A private family service honoring her memory will be held at a later date. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to your local Humane Society as she was an avid animal lover.
