Michael Douglas Stovall

Michael D. Stovall, 64, passed away at Lewis Gale Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia on May 9, 2026, with his wife Marina by his side. Michael was born on August 29, 1961, in Danville, Virginia, to the late Betty M. Stovall and Douglas Q. Stovall who survives.

Michael was of the Christian faith. He graduated from Virginia Tech with a BS in chemistry. He initially taught computer science at National Business College in Danville and later in Roanoke. He worked many years for Advance Auto as a project manager and then for many years at Estes Trucking Company as a program analyst and project manager. He had experienced declining health for the last year.

In addition to his father, Michael is survived by his wife Marina Y. Stovall of Roanoke, Virginia, one son Jonathan Maxwell “Max” Stovall of Lexington, Kentucky and two brothers Stanley Stovall (Tara) of Chatham, Virginia, and Benjamin Stovall (Shelly) of Oviedo, Florida.

A memorial service will be held Saturday May 16, 2026, 11:00 AM at Townes Funeral Home, 215 West Main Street, Danville VA 24541 with Reverend Steve Chromy officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 until 11:00 AM. Inurnment will follow the memorial service at Highland Burial Park.
