Mary Allison Camp Moore

Mary Allison Camp Moore, 93, of Danville, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025.

Mary was born on April 20, 1932, a daughter of the late William Russel Camp and Jessie Merle Johnson Camp. She worked at Dan River Mills for 42 years, culminating as their first female auditor. She put herself through college and received a Master of Business Administration from Averett College. Mary was a past member of Woodberry Hills Baptist Church and currently of Schoolfield Baptist Church. She attended Bible Study Fellowship for many years. She led the Danville Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association in a variety of offices and served on the Board of Directors for God’s Storehouse, where she faithfully volunteered every week for 22 years. She enjoyed water skiing and playing bridge. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the light and joy of her life.

Mary was married to Kenneth Soyars Moore on December 1, 1950, and they were married for 20 years.

Mary is survived by her daughter Ellen Daniel, her son Kenneth R. Moore and his wife Judy, her sister and brother-in-law Jo Ann and Eugene Barber, sister Sonja Willis, and brother Steve Camp and former sister-in-law Reba Camp, grandsons, Jeff Daniel, Kevin Daniel and his wife Lee Anne, Christopher Moore and his wife Mona, and granddaughter Kimberly Moore, great-grandsons Matthew Daniel, Zachary Daniel and Colin Moore, great-granddaughters, Ashton Romanowski and her husband Dylan, Morgan Daniel, Allison Daniel, and Holland Daniel, great-great-granddaughter, Eleanor Romanowski, nieces Linda Brown and Joan Willis, and nephews, John Camp, David Camp, Tony Young.

In addition to her parents Mary is predeceased by her brother, William ‘Bill” Camp, her brother-in-law, Jerry Willis, her sister-in-law, Lauretta Camp, Nieces, Jo-Ellen Willis, Alice Anderson, and nephew Oakley Eugene Barber, Jr.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Schoolfield Baptist Church with Reverend David Turbyfill officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 AM at the church, and at other times at 215 Salisbury Circle, Danville, VA. Interment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Schoolfield Baptist Church.
