Marjorie Parrott

Marjorie Evangeline Boggs Parrott, 95, passed away on August 8, 2026.

She was born on October 8, 1930, to the late Minter Boggs and Annie Evans Boggs Fetters.

Marjorie loved her family more than anything else. She was a member of the Salvation Army. She enjoyed cards, puzzles, word searches, traveling, eating out and especially her double mint gum.

She is predeceased by her husband of 50 years Paul Wesley Parrott, her sisters Charolette Marie Lee and Nannie Pearl Ferguson, children John Wesley Parrott, Malinda Leigh Scott, Karen Ann “Karo”Cofflin, son-in-law Joseph E. Scott and two grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters Irma Epps and Teresa Hutson (Lee). Also surviving are grandchildren Wesley Jones, Daniel Jones, Ashley Scott, Frankie Hutson and two great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday August 13, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Townes Funeral Home’s Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 until 1:00 PM and at other times at 98 Ashlawn Drive, Danville, VA 24541.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the caring staff at Riverside Health and Rehab for all the great care they provided Marjorie.
