Lynn Michael Coleman

Lynn "Mike" Michael Coleman, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on Sunday, May 24th, 2026, at the age of 79. He was born on March 24th, 1947, in Danville, VA.

Mike proudly and willingly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a dedicated banker, having worked at both Peoples Bank and American National Bank. A man of many passions, Mike was an avid golfer and a die-hard Washington Redskins fan. He found joy in working in his yard and cherished every moment spent with his family. Known for his kind heart and generous spirit, Mike loved everyone in the family equally.

Mike is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia Burnett, whom he spent 42 years of his life with; his daughter, Michelle Coleman Rutherford; his bonus daughter, Natalie Burnett Chitwood; his grandchildren, Dustin Shelton, Sierra Brooke Burnett, Dylan Bradley Burnett, Kristin Scout Blue, and Charlotte Mackenzie Blue; his great-grandchildren, Coleson Thomas Blue Martin and Brixten Henry Akers, along with a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Bernard Coleman, Sr. and Jane Coleman; his brother, Robert "Bobby" Bernard Coleman, Jr.; and his bonus son, Henry "Brad" Bradley Burnett.

A visitation to honor Mike's life will be held at Townes Funeral Home Chapel in Danville, VA, on Saturday, June 6th, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Mike's memory.
