Keith Judd Silverman, a cherished resident of Danville, VA, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 23rd, 2025, at the age of 72.

Keith was born on July 28th, 1952, a son of the late Alvin and Gertrude Silverman. A man of many talents and interests, Keith's educational journey took him through GWHS, Washington & Lee University, Vanderbilt University, Averett University, and Tulane University. His career was as diverse as his education, beginning as an entrepreneur with an ice cream truck alongside his friend Zack Hairston. Keith's love for education led him to work in various private schools and serve as a professor at Tulane University, Danville Community College, Delgado Community College, and Martinsville High School. He was also the proud owner of Aeolian Products and Services, Inc.

Keith was deeply committed to his community, serving on the Danville Public School Board and participating in the Church Based Tutorial program. His contributions to education and community service have left a lasting impact on many lives.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Donna Reynolds Silverman; his brothers, Jack Silverman (Lynn) and Paul Silverman (Bobbi Matchar); his stepdaughters, Danya Zuniga (Jose) and Dana Mehalko (Forest Crumpton); and his granddaughter, Graysen Crumpton. Keith also leaves behind his cherished companions, Harvest Jane and Luna, as well as his nieces and nephews, Jenny Mosier (Mark), Stephen Silverman (Kelly), Jacob Silverman (Jess), Alexander Meyer (Garrett), Brian Reynolds (Shannon), and Andrew Reynolds (Ashleigh Burton).

A funeral service will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany in Danville, VA, on Thursday, June 26th, 2025, at 11:00 am. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, and the family will greet friends at other times at the residence.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to, Dr. Sydney Harris, Dr. Angela Hairston, Vanessa Graves, Sybil Graves, Amie Hastings, his Forest Hills Neighbors, the Danville Public School Board, the members of the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: the Alvin & Trudy Silverman Scholarship for Humanities, Arts, & Sciences; the Chad Tough Defeat DIPG Foundation chadtough.org; or the charitable organization of your choice.
