June Pierce

June Smith Pierce, 92, of Stratford House, Apartment 303, Danville, went to her rest on January 11, 2016. June was born in Hopkinsville Kentucky in 1923. Her husband Walter Edward Pierce predeceased her in 1997. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Gray and husband Jonathan Peter Gray and her grandson Christopher Patrick Gray all of Providence, NC. She is also survived by her cousin Peggy Pennock who was raised with June as a sister, Peggy’s son Craig Pennock and daughter Carol Spencer all of Florida. Graveside funeral services will be held at Mountain View Cemetery in Danville on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 2 p.m. with Reverend Joe Northen officiating. The family will receive friends at Townes Funeral Home on Friday, January 15, 2016 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to God’s Store House. Townes Funeral Home and Crematory, 215 West Main Street, is serving the Pierce family.
