Jesse “Jay” Anderson Lowe, III, age 76, of Providence, North Carolina, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2026.
Jay was born on September 15, 1949, a son of the late Jesse Anderson Lowe, Sr. and Ruby Paxton Lowe. He was a proud United States Army veteran who served his country during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, Jay built a long and steady career as an electrician, working for the City of Danville and other companies over many years. For the past 18 years, he worked as a truck driver, a role well suited to his independence, work ethic, and love of the open road.
Jay was a life member of the VFW and American Legion Post 1097. He had a passion for Harley-Davidson motorcycles and enjoyed spending quiet hours reading. Above all else, he cherished his family. He loved all of his grandchildren deeply and took special joy in attending their activities and milestones, especially cheering from the sidelines at soccer matches.
He was married to Gail Richardson Lowe on December 22, 2005, and they shared 20 years of marriage together.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Melody Lowe; Mim Craig (Mitch Thompson); Lee Roach; Cindy Gregory; Scott Gregory (Antonia Gregory); Brandon Gregory (Leigh Ann Gregory); and Brent Gregory (Nancy Gregory); twelve grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Marie Lowe; his daughter, Ann Nicole Lowe; his son, Ronnie Roach; and his brothers, Henry Lowe and Turk Lowe.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 12:30 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Townes Funeral Home, with Hank Collins officiating. Interment will follow at Mount View Cemetery.
