Harry Thornton Brown

Harry Thornton Brown, Jr. , 69, of Danville, VA passed away unexpectedly at SOVAH Health on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. He was born December 12, 1955 in Danville, VA to Harry Thornton Brown, Sr and Edna Hall Brown who preceded him in death.

Harry was married to his wife of 36 years, Nanette Barkley Brown, on March 10, 1989. Surviving in addition to his wife are his brothers Gary K. Brown (Renee Williams) of Providence, NC and Lewis Guill of Danville, his nephews David K. Brown (Shelby) of Providence, their children Dawson, Easton, and Catherine and Ron Guill of Richmond. Also considered family, his in-laws Gaye Barkley, Beverly Abbott, and Jack Barkley.

Harry became a master electrician and worked for years for Oakes and Motley Electric and Motley Electric. In 2004, Harry started his own business, H. T. Brown Electrical, and provided exceptional service to his many clients.

His family and friends will always remember Harry as a loving and caring person. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. A service of remembrance will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Helping Hands Thrift Store or VFW Auxiliary to Post 647.
