Glen Dixon

Glen R. Dixon, Sr., was born on June 2, 1932, and he passed away on January 12, 2021 at the age of 88 after a long illness. He was born to Martin Irvin Dixon, Sr. and Verna Mae Dixon, both of whom predeceased him. His wife, Jean Carol Shackelford Dixon, also predeceased him. Mr. Dixon is survived by his son, Glen R. Dixon, Jr., daughter-in-law Andrea Dixon and two daughters, Rebecca Lynn Dixon, Lisa Dixon Adkins and son-in-law Sammy Adkins. Two daughters, Denna Dixon Williams and Dorcas Renae Dixon, also predeceased him. Mr. Dixon is survived by sisters Alees Robinson and Nancy Moore; and a brother, Martin Irvin Dixon, Jr. He was predeceased by brothers Otis Dixon and Jimmy Dixon. Mr. Dixon had many grandchildren, among whom are; Jennifer Aaron, David Aaron, Christina Cazessus, Robert Lewis, Jonathan Glen Carroll, Amy Boone, Kristie Tickle, and Katie Williams, all who survive him. Mr. Dixon was a lifelong member of River Oak Church of God, formerly known as West Main Street Church of God. At River Oak, he served the Lord diligently in his role as custodian; and he also served as deacon, usher and teacher at various times throughout the years. Services for Mr. Dixon will be graveside only at the Dixon Family Cemetery in Brosville on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. following the CDC Covid guidelines and social distancing.
