Geraldine Frances McGee

Geraldine Frances McGee, 79, a beloved mother and mentor to many, passed away on April 29, 2025.

Geraldine was born on September 3, 1945, in Brooklyn, New York, a daughter of the late Albert Emerson Chaisson and Ann Tristran Chaisson. Geraldine’s gift for guidance and inspiration touched the lives of her children, grandchildren, and countless others seeking direction. She dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing home for her late husband of 25 years, Milton John McGee, and their 6 children. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and fostering a loving environment. Her homemade sweet potato pie was eagerly anticipated by family and friends alike. Her love for caring for others was evident in how she cared for her dogs.

Geraldine is survived by her children, Milton, Melinda, Joey, Donald, Elizabeth, and John, her daughter-in-law, Latisha, her grandchildren, Shaquenna, Nevaeh, Tatina, Melaeh, Jayvon, Shaniyah, Dominique, Jr., Sha-Asia, Robert, and Molly (Melinda), and her great-grandchildren, Arie, Omari, EJ, and Kahali.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Townes Funeral Home. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service.
