Frank Van Valkenburg V

October 15, 2002 — February 8, 2026

Danville

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Frank Van Valkenburg V, affectionately referred to as “Frank 5”, “Five” or “V”. He was born on October 15, 2002, and was the loving son of Frank Van Valkenburg IV and Denise Brown Van Valkenburg, and a special brother to Sophie Van Valkenburg.

Frank 5 was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Frank Van Valkenburg III (Papa) and Melvin H. Brown (Mel). He is survived by his cherished grandmothers, Carol Van Valkenburg (Nana) and Bette C. Brown (Meme), all who held a special place in his heart. In addition, he leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and cousins who will miss his sweet smile.

He attended Danville Community College and worked as an electrical apprentice, where he was known for his strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and the respect he showed to those he worked with.

Frank 5 also had a passion for the things that brought him joy. He loved his family and friends, his dogs Chunk and Cookie, and collecting tennis shoes, of which he was very proud. He admired cars and was a faithful New England Patriots fan (though we are sorry they did not win a 7th Super Bowl this year). These interests were just a few of the many ways his personality and enthusiasm shined.

Though his life ended far too soon, the impact he made on the hearts of his family and friends will remain forever cherished. Frank 5 will always be remembered for his kind heart, genuine spirit, great manners, quiet demeanor, and wild hair.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that toy and food donations be made to the Danville Area Human Society. The family will receive visitors at Townes Funeral Home on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 1:00 to 2:30 pm.
