Deloss Arthur Hill

Deloss Arthur “Springer” Hill, 83, of Danville, VA, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday June 26, 2026.

Deloss was born in Moline, Illinois, on December 30, 1942. He was the son of the late Essie Merna Polk Hill and Clifton Thomas Hill.

He was a handyman and tinkerer. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t accomplish, except cooking. He was a veteran, who enjoyed to travel the world to explore, building T-Pees and tinker with anything with a motor.

He was married to his soul-mate Jane Carolyn Wilson Hill on Tuesday April 10, 1973. They were married 52 beautiful years.

He was survived by his sister, Merita Marilyn Marek (Robert) of Camp Hill, PA; and Merna Sue Arinder (Carl Joe) of Mt. Olive, MS. His 5 children, Merita Marie Hill Kissinger (Randall), Gary Lee Hill (Shawn), Dale Eugene Johnson, Theresa Lynn Baker (David), and Janie Lynn Hill. His 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 4 nephews and numerous great nieces and great nephews. 

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his brothers, Merlin Glenn Hill and David Clifton Hill and his grandson Christopher John Mangels.
