Top of Form Charles Allen Easley, III, 72, of Danville, Virginia died Friday, October 5, 2018. Charles was born March 23, 1946 and was the son of Dr. Charles Allen Easley, Jr. and Elizabeth Fitzgerald Easley. He is survived by his loving wife, Claudia Carter Easley; his son, Charles Allen Easley, IV and his fiancé Kristen Fowler; his son Rawleigh Carter Easley and his wife Jaya; his daughter Frances Easley Uitto and her husband Kevin. He was also the beloved Papa to four grandchildren: Claudia Jane Uitto, Rawleigh Carter Easley, Jr., Joseph Bondurant Uitto, and Clark Ashby Easley. Charles graduated from Woodberry Forest School of Woodberry, Virginia in 1964. He received his undergraduate degree in Latin from the University of Richmond and his master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Virginia. Charles began his career in education teaching in Richmond, Virginia. In 1976, Charles opened a restaurant called the Wurst Place and after eight years opened the Best Place. Eventually, Charles returned to education and became a Latin teacher and later a principal in Prince Edward County and Henry County. The family will receive friends at West Main Baptist Church, 450 West Main Street, Danville, Virginia, Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 1:00 pm.
