Cecil Eanes

December 31, 1969 — January 25, 2019

Cecil O Eanes, born Nov 19, 1920, in Schoolfield, Virginia, died Jan 25, 2019, in Canton, Georgia.  A graduate of Schoolfield High School, he also attended Maryville College in Tennessee and Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Virginia.  Cecil was an ordained Presbyterian minister who served at various churches in North Carolina, West Virginia, Ohio, Colorado, California, and Montana before retiring in Danville. He was predeceased by his parents, Charlie and Ruth Eanes, as well as wives Mildred and Edith.  Survived by his four children, John (Deborah) Eanes, of Woodstock, GA, Judy (Mike) Newman, of Cary, NC, Jim Eanes, of Mercer Island, WA, and Jan (Bob) Brinkert of Baldwin, MI, as well as stepdaughters Phyllis (Barry) Marshall of Fredericksburg, VA, Joyce (Jim) Dillis of Smith Mountain Lake, VA, and Sylvia Buckner of Myrtle Beach, SC.  He is also survived by nine grandchildren, John Eanes, Jeff Eanes, Josh Eanes, Danielle Spaeth, Deanna Møller, Adrian Babeluck, Luke Vanica, Lucy Vanica, and Margie Williams as well as by many great-grandchildren.              A memorial service will be held on February 7, 2019 at 2 PM, at Townes Memorial Chapel.  Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
