Betty Jean Dalton Moore passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at the age of 88.

She was born in Virginia on August 31, 1937, a daughter of the late James Gilmore Dalton and Ila Grace Dalton. Jean spent her career in telemarketing where she retired from EDL after many years of service. Beyond her work, Jean had a passion for travel, exploring new places, and creating lasting memories with her loved ones.

Jean is survived by her son, Donald L. Moore, two grandchildren, Tammy Burgoa and Casey Pottorff (Brandon), four great-grandchildren, her sister, Carolyn Redding, two stepbrothers, Nathan and Billy and her special niece and nephew, Wendy Hallman and Todd Younger.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, James Gilmore Dalton and Ila Grace Dalton, her husband, Robert Martin Moore, and her sons, Samuel M. Moore and Chris C. Moore. She was also predeceased by her sister, Geraldine "Jerry" Younger.

A graveside service will be held at Danville Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 10:00 am. with Pastor Clark Crowder officiating.
