Beth Wienberry Dix, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on Wednesday, February 11th, 2026, in Danville, VA. Born on Sunday, May 2nd, 1954, in Guilford County, North Carolina, Beth was a daugther of the late Gilbert Henry Wienberry and Grace Wienberry.
A proud alumna of Galax High School, Beth was an active member of the marching band, where she played the French horn. She furthered her education at Averett College, which laid the foundation for her career as a medical transcriptionist. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Beth had a passion for genealogy, history, and cooking, and she cherished her roots in eastern North Carolina. She found joy in visiting cemeteries, exploring the stories of those who came before her. Above all, Beth loved her children and grandchildren deeply.
Beth was the wife of James Dix, with whom she shared 50 years of marriage. She is also survived by her children Rachel Easley, Matthew Dix, and Jacob Dix; her grandchildren, Shelby Cody (Jon Dabney), Jackson Easley (fiancée, Heidi), Zoe Dix, Cayce Dix, Chloe Dix, and Mattie Dix; her great-grandchild, Vivian Dabney; her brother, Bobby Wienberry, and her sister, ‘Sha’ Kegley. Beth's love for animals was evident in her care for her dogs, Julie and Puppy, and her hermit crabs.
In addition to her parents, Beth was preceded in death by her sister, 'Sissy' Ridge.
In honor of Beth's memory, donations can be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
